CHARACTER NAME: Buffy Summers
SERIES: Buffy the Vampire Slayer
CANON POINT: 522 The Gift
AGE: 20
APPEARANCE: Buffy is played by Sarah Michelle Gellar | ( icons ) | Buffy is 5'4" with blonde hair that touches just past her shoulders, hair that she mostly keeps straight due her lifestyle. Her light and small frame helps Buffy with her Slaying and she is rather athletic ( due to training and Slaying ). She prefers wearing clothes that are easy to move in due to her duties as a Slayer although she does have a love of shoes, often wearing heeled boots whilst she is slaying.

PREVIOUS GAME HISTORY: N/A

PERSONALITY: Buffy is a very caring individual, noticeable first around her friends and family but also to anyone that may be in danger due to an evil presence. Although Buffy's job is to slay and stop evil it doesn't stop her caring about anyone that may be in harms way and she will do anything to protect them. Even when Buffy found out that Dawn really wasn't her sister, that she was a magical entity sent to her in human disguise for her protection it didn't change what Buffy felt even knowing that the sisterly bond between them had been manufactured from magic. Buffy's obligation to protect Dawn wasn't just through her duty as a Slayer but because she loved and cared for the girl as her sister and in the end sacrificed her own life for Dawn's because of this, refusing to let her sister die. When Buffy meets with the First Slayer in order to pass a test set to her by the Watcher's Council the First Slayer tells Buffy that she is not in the same world as everyone else, that she must be alone in order to do her job ( something that is similar to what Kendra, another Slayer, told her also ). Buffy rejects this idea, telling the First Slayer to give her her friends back. Buffy's friends are important to her not only because of their friendship but because she also needs them; Buffy may be a powerful Slayer but her friends have provided her with help, guidance and support on many occasions, something which Buffy is incredible thankful for. An addition to Buffy's kindness is her empathy - after discovering that she was the Slayer Buffy felt incredibly isolated, unable to tell anyone what she was and the truth of the world Buffy's popularity diminished. By feeling this it has helped Buffy to care more about others, especially those that are outcasted themselves - Buffy knows the feeling and can empathise with it. Along with wanting to help others ( as a Slayer ) being able to understand how people feels allows her to help them in more personal ways too.

Before Buffy became a Slayer her attitude and personality was very superficial and vain. Buffy liked being popular and cared more about herself than anything that went on around her. After discovering that she was the Slayer, however, Buffy's attitude changed - with her role came responsabilities and in order to function, do her job and most imporantly stay alive Buffy needed to think differently. Despite this Buffy was still a little selfish, although understandably so - she was a young girl with the weight of the world on her shoulders and no time to relax or simply be herself, although despite her complaints Buffy fully knew and understood that she needed to do her job, that there was more than her own whims and wishes at stake. Although she fought with the job a lot, and Giles along with it, Buffy embraced being a Slayer and the responsabilities that came with it, and even managed to find a balance between it and having a social life ( which helped by having her friends as a part of her Slayer life ).

Buffy further embraced her responsabilities after her sister, Dawn, came into her life. Although Buffy's memories and feelings had been altered ( along with those of her friends and family ) to believe that Dawn had always been Buffy's sister, when Buffy found out the truth it became a different matter entirely. Although the knowledge was at first a little difficult to accept it didn't alter how Buffy felt about her or her responsability to protect her ( as both her sister and due to what Dawn was ). After Buffy's mother was killed her responsabilities grew fourfold after having now not only to work as a Slayer but to look after Dawn as her parent, look after the house and try and pay all the bills. Buffy found this incredibly difficult to deal with, the loss of her mother not helping with that, and by trying to keep everything together Buffy realised that she was in fact missing a lot - something that was difficult for her to admit.

Buffy is also a natural born leader and team player. Before discovering that she was the Slayer Buffy used to be a cheerleader, something which required not only coordination but team work along with it. Although Buffy's life as a Slayer is supposed to be one of isolation - by not telling anyone about her duties it is supposed to keep them safer - Buffy has been able to do some of her best work by working with others ( either "The Scooby Gang" or with another Slayer ) - either through receiving information first or during Slaying ( e.g. Willow has before used her magic to guide Buffy on a patrol, or has increased her strength in a difficult situation ). Her leadership skills extend further than this. On a day to day basis Buffy is the 'leader of the Scoobies' and will be the one who tells Willow and Xander ( and later Cordelia ) how they can help. In bigger situations ( such as the confrontations with the Master and the Mayor ) Buffy's leadership has been on a bigger scale, including tactical planning and analysing the situation to keep everyone safe during the fight. In later years when an even bigger threat came to pass Buffy became the leader of every Slayer in the world after Willow cast a spell to activate them. Although originally her leadership failed to motivate them and they were not confident in her abilities this changed and Buffy was eventually able to leader them as she needed to. As well as being able to lead others Buffy is very motivational and is described as being 'peppy' ( something which is natural to her ). Her 'pep' aided her when she was a cheerleader but has done even more now, helping to cheer her friends up when a situation seems grim but also to motivate and reassure them that they will get through it and be successful - something that they always do.

Buffy differs greatly from other Slayers, firstly by having friends and being able to manage her social life along with her Slayer duties but also with her emotions. When Kendra was activated due to Buffy's death and the two met Kendra told Buffy that a Slayer didn't have the luxury of emotions. This is an idea that Buffy has rejected, and although her emotional state has hindered her on occassion ( for example if she is sad or cares about someone that is in danger ) Buffy stated to Kendra that her emotions gave her power and were an asset to her. From her emotions Buffy draws strength, courage and also the will to do what she does - if someone is in danger she uses her emotions to help her through the situation, to push away any fear or sadness and draw on the emotional strengths that she has ( something which helps her physically if she is angry or stressed ). Buffy is confident in herself and her abilities, and her ability to use and control her emotions so that they aid her is one more thing that she is confident about. Buffy is also incredibly sarcastic, something which she uses greatly whilst she is Slaying - something that was seen as delaying what should be done, simply staking or taking care of the demon.

Although Buffy is essentiall a 'killer' she has very high morals in regards to this. Despite the fact that her job is to slay demons there have been some that she hasn't killed because of their good nature. Despite knowing that Angel was a vampire Buffy made no attempt to kill him ( instead becoming romantically involved with him, a contradiction to her job ) as he often provided her with information or helped her whilst she was slaying. Another example of this is Spike - although Buffy oridinally tried to slay him she eventually stopped after he became an asset to her ( mostly because of the chip in his brain preventing him from being able to attack anything that was alive ). This is something that has extended to humans also. Although humans can be as bad as demons, something that Buffy has acknowledged, that is one line that Buffy refuses to cross - she may be a Slayer but she is not a killer ( and even though Ben shared his body with the God Glory she refused to kill him, refusing to take his life even though it would stop Glory from ever returning ). Buffy's 'motto' when teaching the new Slayer's was when facing a human to always "go for the wound" so that they would only injure them and not kill them. Even despite Buffy's morals there have been exceptions to the 'rule', humans that she has been prepared to kill ( or has done so ) but these have been under exceptional circumstances and it is not something that Buffy feels good about.

Although Buffy is a strong individual she is not infallible and has many flaws, the largest of them being her ability to follow authority and rules. Buffy has often disregarded what the Watcher's Council has said to her and when placed under a test by them to test her abilities she was unable to complete any of the tasks due to not responding well to their authority. Buffy likes to be in control of situations, especially due to her role as a Slayer. Buffy is very confident in her abilities ( often a little over-confident ) and because she knows what she can do, and that she can do something it makes her want to control the situation and everything about it. Although this works well for her leadership it doesn't work well when she is placed under pressure or if a situation takes a turn that she didn't anticipate. Despite failing the Watcher's Council test, however, Buffy managed to prove to them that she was 'Slayer material', showing them what she could do, along with an advanced sense of awareness that their test didn't account for.

ABILITIES: Buffy is regarded as the most powerful Slayer to ever have existed and is also the most successful, despite having died in the course of her duties (activating another Slayer). Buffy is also regarded as highly successful due to not only successfully killing vampires and other demons but also by preventing other great evil forces from coming to power ( e.g. The Master & the Mayor ) but also for how long Buffy has been active as a Slayer ( 5 years at this point ). Buffy's fighting style is very improvisational - she needs to adapt to any situation that she may find her in and often uses objects around her as stakes when her own has been thrown from her. Buffy's Slayer abilities include:
    - superhuman strength, speed & agility
    - ability to sense a demon's presence
    - enhanced reflexes
    - enhanced durability
    - accelerated healing
    - collective memories of previous slayer's
    - precognition ( through dreams )
Buffy also possesses other, more human abilities, ones that are able to help her not only in daily life but also in her duties as a Slayer. These abilities include:
    - intelligence ( she has had near-perfect SAT scores )
    - strong leadership skills
    - deductive abilities
    - natural flair for tactical planning
Buffy is also incredibly athletic and is skilled in both ice skating and cheerleading. Her athleticism also means that she is a decent runner ( in speed and durability, though this is also enhanced by her Slayer abilities ).

JOURNAL ENTRY SAMPLE: Gotta say, not what I expected. Fancy lights, maybe some organ music and a whole lot of white; that was what I expected. But this? Definitely fell the wrong way. [ She's been told that she's not dead, that none of them here are but considering that she killed herself to save Dawn? She doesn't believe it ]

So what's the deal? Kill a whole bunch of monsters and maybe you'll get up to Heaven because if so? It kind of sucks, and it's definitely nothing new. I go from one Hell God to a world of monsters that... don't actually suck and... well, Giles would have a field day on this one.

And they said this was supposed to stop when I died. Guess someone needs to help them rewrite the manual. Once a Slayer always a Slayer, yippee.

THIRD-PERSON SAMPLE: No thank you :3
